Q: What is a chair massage?

A: A chair massage is a 15 minute massage, on an ergonomically designed portable massage chair, that focuses on the high tension areas of the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands. You sit on the massage chair facing forward, with your head in a face-rest. Chair massage produces therapeutic results quickly by concentrating on the areas of greatest tension.

Q: Are services tax deductible?

A: Probably, based on our tax consultant, but please consult the tax specialist for your organization.

Q: Are oils used during the massage?

A: No oils are used in chair massage. Sometimes a light and absorbent lotion is applied during hand massage. Please let your therapist know if you prefer no lotion.

Q: Do I remove my clothing?

A: No. During a chair massage, you remain fully clothes, though you may be asked to remove a jacket or obstructive jewelry.

Q: What about cleanliness?

A: Before each massage session, massage therapists wash their hands and clean and disinfect the massage chair and face-rest and apply a fresh face-rest cover.

Q: Can I ask for more or less pressure?

A: Yes. Our massage therapists are trained to adapt to a wide variety of body types and sensitivities to pressure.

Q: Will I be tired afterward?

A: Not at all! It is easy to mistake a sense of relaxation for fatigue. In fact, research has shown chair massage recipients to be more alert and focused afterwards.

Q: Are gratuities or tips expected?

A: Gratuities are not expected or necessary, but of course they are an excellent way to let the massage therapists know they have done an outstanding job.

Q: I'm pregnant. Can I still get a chair massage?

A: Absolutely. Massage can be very beneficial for women during pregnancy. However, be sure to let the massage therapist know you are pregnant so they can assure your safety and comfort. This is especially true if you are in the first trimester, when it may not be obvious that you are pregnant.

Q: Are there contraindications for chair massage?

A: Yes. Medical contraindications include but are not limited to: uncontrolled hypertension, uncontrolled diabetes, fractures, herniated discs, malignancy, numbness or tingling in any part of the body, expecially the hands and feet. Please inform your massage therapist of any acute or ongoing health condiitons before the chair massage.

Q: Do you have a freestanding facility or do you make business visits?

A: We currently provide mobile chair massages at your location.
